Little Bear
- (appears ... looks all around)
This path doesn't look familiar.  (again, looks all around)
And I don't think I've ever seen these trees before.
Oh No!  It's getting dark, and I'm LOST.
(sits down and starts crying)
Mr. Moose - (appears, after a few seconds - with a thumping foot step noise)
Whoops!  I almost stepped on you.  You're so tiny.
Little Bear, what are you doing out here so late?
Little Bear - (stands up and wipes eyes)
You see, Mr. Moose, I was visiting my grandmother at her cabin in the forest, and
I seem to have gotten turned around.  I'm afraid I'm lost.
Mr. Moose - Yes, there are a lot of different trails out here.
Little Bear - Mr. Moose, if you could please point me in the direction of Apple Tree Falls,
I think I can find my way home.  My family lives in a den just behind those Falls.
Mr. Moose - Well, Little Bear, why don't you just climb up on my back?  I know
those Falls, and I'll be happy to take you home.
Little Bear - Oh Me!  That'd be GREAT, Mr. Moose.  Are you sure?
Mr. Moose- Yes, Little Bear.  "What Would Jesus Do" is my motto.
Little Bear - How do you know that's what Jesus would do?
Mr. Moose - Well, Little Bear, the Bible tells us we should look out for one another
and not just ourselves.  And Jesus wants the Bible to be our guide in life.
Little Bear - Yippee!  I'm sure glad YOU found me, Mr. Moose.
Mr Moose - Yes, and I'm glad you stopped crying, Little Bear.  Come on up now.
Little Bear - OK ... THANK YOU sooo much, Mr. Moose.  (climbs up on Mr. Moose's back)
Mr. Moose - You're welcome.  Hold on tight, Little Bear.  Here we go!   (puppets disappear)
                                                              THE END
Scripture Theme

"And look out for one another's interests, not just for your own."

AN ANSWER TO PRAYER ~ Duke (donkey) and Davey (duck)

one prop - string to act as fishing line
Duke - (appears and slowly "walks" back and forth across the stage area twice)
Ahh ~ the sun's going down ... my favorite time of day to walk down to the pond for a cool drink.
(again "walks" back and forth across the stage area twice)
Hmm ~ What's that white clump?
Davey - (during Duke's "walk" above, Davey has appeared and lays motionless to one side of the stage with string wound around his head and body)
Quack quack, Quack quack ... Quack quack, Quack quack.
Duke - Davey, is that you?
Davey - Hi Duke.
Quack quack, Quack quack ... Quack quack, Quack quack.
Yes, it's me.  I'm in a mess here.
Duke -You certainly are.  What happened?
Davey - You see, I was diving down deep in the pond for a bite of my favorite curly leaf weeds and got tangled in this old fishing line.
Can you help?
Duke - I sure can.  My teeth are as sharp as scissors.
Just hold still for a minute.
(Duke pulls the string off Davey)
Davey - Quack quack, Quack quack ... Quack quack, Quack quack.  (while Duke is pulling the string off)
Duke - There you are.  All done.
Davey - Thank you, Duke.  I was praying God would send me some help.
Duke - Wow!  You're welcome.
So you think I'm an answer to your prayer?
Davey - Quack quack, Quack quack ... Quack quack, Quack quack.
Yep!  Remember Jesus told his disciples that whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Duke - That's AWESOME, Davey.  See ya later.
Davey - Yea ~ Good Night.  See you tomorrow.   (both disappear together)
                                                            THE END
Scripture Theme

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."  (Mark 11:24, NASB).

one prop - Bible
Narrator - (knock several times on basket with lid)
Hello, Lambchop ... are you home?  Lambchop?  (slowly lift basket lid and reveal Lambchop)
Oh! There you are.  Hi little friend!  Come on out and visit.
I've been trying to get ready for Christmas.  (say as put Lambchop on your hand)
Lambchop - (frequently says Baa - Baa before / during her speaking parts)
Hi Ms. Cathy!   (substitute your narrator's name)   Me too ~ I've been trying to get ready for
Christmas.  I just LOVE Christmas!!!
Narrator - Well, what have you been doing?
Lambchop - I was just wrapping some presents.
Narrator - NICE!
Lambchop - And last night my animal friends helped me put up my last string of twinkle lights.
Narrator - WOW ~ I bet your tree is the prettiest one ever, Lambchop.
Lambchop - (laugh)  Oh, no, Ms. Cathy.  We didn't decorate a tree.  We decorated the BARN!
Narrator - (laugh too)  Well, of course you did Lambchop.  Silly me.  And I bet it's just beautiful!!!
Lambchop - Yes ~ and the last thing we did was put a Big Star on the rooftop!
Narrator - Great!  You know, Lambchop, that reminds me of a story in the Bible.  Maybe you've
heard it?
Lambchop - Tell me, Ms. Cathy.
Narrator - Well, Lambchop, some visitors from the East saw Jesus' star in the sky and followed it
and followed it until it stopped over the place where the Child was.  Some people call them the
Three Kings or the Three Wisemen.  They rode camels for miles and miles, each bringing
Jesus a special gift.
Lambchop - (excited)  Yes!  Exactly!  I know that story, Ms. Cathy.  As a matter of fact, I have a
VERY special connection to that Big Star God put in the sky the night Jesus was born.
Narrator - You do?  What's that Lambchop?
Lambchop - You see ~ my great, great, great, great, GREAT Grandma Matilda was the little lamb
in that Christmas song that asks the question, "Do you see what I see?"
Narrator - Really?  That's incredible, Lambchop!  Well, what did she say about the star?
Lambchop - She said it was the Biggest, Brightest, MOST Brilliant star she'd ever seen!  AND ~ it
had a tail as big as a kite.
Narrator - (laughing)  Now that does sound like the song, doesn't it?
Lambchop - (laughing too)  I know ... right?  And, Ms. Cathy, that's my favorite verse in the
whole song.  Will you sing it for me?
Narrator - Oh, Lambchop, I don't know.  I can't really sing.
Lambchop - PLEASE.
Narrator - Well, it IS Christmas.  I guess I can give it a go.    OK ~
"Said the night wind to the little lamb - Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky little lamb - Do you see what I see?
A star ... A star ... shining in the night
With a tail as big as a kite - With a tail as big as a kite."
(Lambchop dances and claps throughout the singing)
Lambchop - Oh, Thank You, Ms. Cathy!  That was PERFECT.
Narrator - (chuckling)  Well, you're welcome, Lambchop.
Lambchop - And guess what, Ms. Cathy?
Narrator - I don't know - what, Lambchop?
Lambchop - The star isn't the only thing my Grandma Matilda saw that night.
Narrator - It wasn't?
Lambchop - (excited)  No ~ she also saw the Baby JESUS!!!
Narrator - NO WAY!
Lambchop - Yes, Ms. Cathy.  It's true!  For years and years, our flocks have been passing down
her story for generations.  And it's just like the one that's written in the Bible.  Can you please
read THAT story to me, Ms. Cathy?
Narrator - Why, Yes, Lambchop.  I'd be happy to!  You know sharing the Jesus story from that first
Christmas long ago is a VERY important part of getting ready for Christmas.  Let's see.  Let me get
my Bible.   (pick up Bible)   Here it is in the book of Luke.  Can you help me hold it, Lambchop?
(read Luke: 8-16)
Lambchop - That's it alright, Ms. Cathy.  Thank You.   (excited)   Isn't it just WONDERFUL?
The Shepherds ~ The Angel ~ AND the Baby Jesus!!!
Narrator - Yes, Lambchop, it IS Wonderful ... AND Best of All, the Baby Jesus!
Well, is there anything else you'd like to tell me from your great, great, great, great, GREAT
Grandma Matilda's story?
Lambchop - Ms. Cathy ~ you know we sheep can't be left alone in the fields at night.
Narrator - That's right.
Lambchop - So, Grandma Matilda and all the rest of the flock went with the shepherds that
first Christmas to find the baby.  They walked and walked and walked.  Grandma Matilda
said she was the youngest in the flock and her little lamb legs got so tired that the shepherd
boy had to carry her the last mile.
Narrator - Awww, how sweet.
Lambchop -  Yes ~ (excited)  and Ms. Cathy, he laid her down RIGHT in front of the manger!
Grandma Matilda said baby Jesus was sleeping.
Narrator - Did your Grandma Matilda take a nap too?
Lambchop - Oh No, Ms. Cathy.  She said she just watched Him sleeping for a long time.  And
then He woke up ... but He didn't cry.  (pause)    He looked at her and smiled.
Narrator - My Goodness ~ what a special memory, Lambchop.
Lambchop - Yes, it was quite an AMAZING night for Grandma Matilda.
Narrator - Well you know, Lambchop, that first Christmas long ago was an AMAZING night
for the Whole World too!  Because when God sent Jesus to earth, He gave us the BEST gift EVER ...
just like the angel told the shepherds, "This very day your Savior is born."
Lambchop - Yes, Ms. Cathy.  No wonder we celebrate ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!
Narrator - HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!
Lambchop - I guess I better finish wrapping those presents, Ms. Cathy.  Bye for now ...
and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Narrator - (giving Lambchop a hug)   MERRY CHRISTMAS LAMBCHOP!!!  AND
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
                                                                 THE END
Scripture Theme
"There were some shepherds in that part of the country who were spending the
night in the fields.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone
over them.  They were terribly afraid, but the angel said to them, 'Don't be afraid!  I am here
with good news for you, which will bring great joy to all the people.  This very day in David's
town your Savior was born - Christ the Lord!  And this is what will prove it to you:  you
find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'  Suddenly a great army of heaven's
angels appeared with the angel, singing praises to God:  'Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom he is pleased!'  When the angels went away from
them back into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, 'Let's go to Bethlehem and see
this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us.'  So they hurried off and found Mary
and Joseph and saw the baby lying in the manger."  (Luke 2:8-16,  Good News Bible).

Sally -
(appears ... no words for now ... lays head down ... heartbroken)
Bianca - (appears after a few seconds)
Excuse me.  (gently taps Sally on the back)
Hello there!    Are you OK, Sally?
When we were lining up to come to Art, I saw you smiling bigger than anyone.
Sally - (lifting head ... sad voice)  Yes, Bianca, art's my favorite subject.  (puts head back down)
Bianca - I don't understand.  Did they run out of paintbrushes?
Sally - No, that's not it.  (gets self upright now)
Bianca - Well, what happened then?  Why are you so sad?
Sally - You see - When I sat down at the table, everyone started making fun of me.
They held their noses and called me "Stinky".
Then they ALL got up and moved over there.
Bianca - What?!?  (in unbelieving voice)     That's no way to treat a new student!
And, anyway, I'm standing right here beside you, and I don't smell a thing.
Sally - I know.  We skunks only give off that bad odor when we're startled or afraid.
It's the way we protect ourselves.
Bianca - Don't worry, Sally.  Come sit with me and my friends.
We'll make room for you at our table.
Sally - Really?  (voice brightens)  Why would you be so nice to me, Bianca?
Bianca - It's called the Golden Rule.  I learned about it at church.
When Jesus lived on earth a long time ago, He taught everyone to treat each other the way they wanted to be treated.
Sally - WOW - I like that rule!
Bianca - Yeah, me too.  Come on!
I think the teacher's ready to give us our instructions.   (both disappear together)
                                                                       THE END
Scripture Theme

one prop - small Bible
Lily - (squawks frequently ... jumps up and down ... excited ... worried ... talks fast ... high pitched voice)
Oh Dear Me!  (appears suddenly)
What am I going to do?  This is awful, just AWFUL!!!
I feel terrible.  (shaking head)
And where is Carlos?
Carlos - (moves slow ... talks slow ... deep voice with calming tone)
Hello Lily.  Here I am.  (appears slowly)
I was polishing my shell when I got your text.
I stopped ... and ran over as fast as I could.
What's wrong?
Lily - Oh, Carlos - It's awful, just AWFUL!!!
You know I live in a Big birdhouse with my friends.
Well, every Tuesday I go to the granary and pick up bird seed for all of us.
Carlos - That's sure nice of you, Lily.
Lily - Yes, but yesterday I forgot!  And when I called today, the message said they're on vacation the rest of the week.  Oh My!  I can't bare to think of my friends being hungry.  It's all my fault!  (crying)
Carlos - Now, now, Lily, don't cry.  It's going to be O.K.  I bet God has an answer.  He always does.
Where's your Bible?
Lily - Oh!  Wait a minute.  I'll go get it.
(pause while Lily disappears and returns with small Bible)
Here, Carlos!  What does it say?
Carlos - Well, Lily, let me see.  I think this verse in Hebrews can help.
It says, "And do not forget to do good and to share with others".
Lily, didn't you get two HUGE bags of birdseed last month for your birthday?
Lily - That's it, Carlos!  I can share my birthday birdseed!  I'll divide it all up in little sacks and give one to each of my friends to last them till next week.
Oh - Thank You, Carlos!!!
Carlos - You're welcome, Lily.  Remember, it's always a good thing to turn to the Lord and His word when you're in trouble.
Lily - I will, Carlos.  Gotta get to work!  See you later ... Bye!  (quickly disappears)
Carlos - Good bye, Lily.  I'll just run back home and finish polishing my shell.  (slowly walks away)
